Abstract: We are developing tutorials for use in introductory college level courses in quantum mechanics and modern physics. These tutorials utilize hands-on activities and interactive computer programs to actively engage students in learning. Conceptual understanding is emphasized and used to develop mathematical understanding and problem solving skills. These tutorials can easily be coordinated with many of the modern Physics and quantum mechanics texts in use today. Tutorials that have been developed so far include Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle, Wave Packets, and the deBroglie wavelength of particles.
