Abstract:

There are a limited number
of positions available for undergraduates to participate in this
international study program (2000-2001). A group of 10 physics educators
from six countries are collaborating to produce a set of multimedia
interactive lessons centered on the scientific and cultural aspects of
the bicycle. We are working with students using techniques such as
digital video capture, Calculator-Based Laboratory measuring tools,
Interactive Physics simulations, etc., to develop instructional
materials. Students will receive a $2500 stipend for three months at one
of the European member institutions: University of Amsterdam, University
of Athens, University of Vienna, University of Kiel (Germany), and
University of Jyväskylä (Finland). For more information, please refer to
