The accepted model for Absorption

Whoops! Doesn't this pattern seem to get old after a while? The electron states are still there, there is no change in the arrangement of the electron energy states in an atom, just a change of energy transer. In absorption, we see the same pattern as emission, however, we do not see the electron falling from excited states, we see electrons jumping to excited states.
