The accepted model
The accepted energy level diagram for a Hydrogen atom is CHOICE 1.
This choice shows the electrons changing energy levels from 3 different energy
states to one state. If we think about the electrons before we apply energy
to the Hydrogen tube, the electrons would be found in a common state,
also called the ground state. When the tube is turned on, the
electrons become excited. Some of the electrons will move to higher
energies than the others.
