Here is menu that offers four programs (MS Excel) that enable the user to
perform different statistical analysis of data simply by cutting the results
and pasting them in the appropriate columns. These programs either calculate
desired values automatically after the data is entered or they require a few
simple steps on the user’s part in order for the desired calculation for be
performed. Programs are given for calculation of:
- Correlations between the
answers. After data is entered in columns B-G, program translates the data
into “1” and “0” pattern in columns AJ-BM. The user than needs to perform
correlation analysis of this data using the standard Excel function.
Obtained correlations can be pasted into word document using the template
provided in the folder 5 on the CD.
- Significant levels of
correlation coefficients. If exact number of degrees of freedom needed is
not given in the table, this program linearly extrapolates table values
for any number between 1 and 1000. Desired number has to be entered in
columns E-F and desired correlation at levels 1 and 5% two tailed appears
in the column K. One needs to enter number in the column F so that its sum
with the number in column E makes the desired number of degrees of
freedom.
- The final two programs
in this statistical package calculate if there is a significant difference
between the students’ responses if different versions of the test are
administered. User needs to enter the results of one test versions in
columns B-G and another in columns K-P. Results are automatically
displayed in columns AC-AJ on the right side of data entry (to
conveniently place results, intermediate calculations in columns S-AB are
hidden and if necessary user can easily unhide them).
